It is no secret by now that cannabis growers are having serious chemical contamination issues with their finished products. This situation has directly affected crop production to North American growers and has directly led to health issues for some of their clients. Bottom lines are being affected and 3 class action lawsuits have been launched over tainted marijuana that contained banned pesticides. These lawsuits are against medical marijuana growers. Public trust is at a low point and obviously people are searching for solutions.
On the other hand the use of marijuana as a pain relief and multi benefit medicinal substance is becoming incredibly popular. In Israel for example elderly patients are even able to smoke in their nursing homes. Pot is being used to treat post traumatic stress disorder, cancers, multiple-sclerosis and many other conditions. In fact the Marijuana TImes.org states in a recent article that approximately over 10,000 scientific experiments have been done with marijuana since 1999 and “the results point to the fact that marijuana is indeed an effective medicine.” https://www.marijuanatimes.org/the-national-academy-of-sciences-deems-marijuana-an-effective-medicine/The people have spoken, the medical community has listened and we are on to a new era wherein science is unlocking the vast potential of this amazing plant.
Looking back it seems ludicrous that it was demonized so effectively. Ostensibly this was done because hemp was intruding on the profit potential of other industries but that is another story. Equally ludicrous is the fact that opoids which have killed and continue to kill so many people on a daily basis are so readily available.
At any rate the contamination issue is now on the table and one of the side effects is that laboratories are cited as being the next big ancillary growth business in this field. This is partially because governments are going to implement random testing of crops and therefore widespread analysis of products is to be expected to protect the reputation of companies, avoid fines and keep the quality of the product high.
Canadian Junior Report will be publishing a series of articles following this latest phase in the maturation of the marijuana industry, please stay tuned to keep up to date/.
